Can you get better fuel economy with a fuel additive? In this video, we make YouTube History by testing a fuel additive to see if it will actually give you better fuel economy. I sent out 20 bottles of the fuel additive to my subscribers to test their fuel economy. They went a total of 56,000 miles and the results are in! Here is the product I used: http://goo.gl/V16Hu3
The test was proven to be statistically significant using a T-test by subscriber SX L after dopping the volvo outlier which means we got an average of .54mpg increase.

i have a big problem about the inclusion of the volvo s40 which gained more than 10 MPG (?????). This is clearly an outlier and doesnt make any sense

hey chris, i got a mazda3 2011 which is supposed to do around 8.8 l/100km (26.7 mpg) but it does like 11-12 l/100km (21 – 19 mpg). do you happen to know any causes for bad fuel economy?

That was epic, never seen it before on such a scale. I would believe that fuel economy on the Volvo came from cleaning. My Toyota wouldn't do 40mpg, I had the fuel injectors ultra sound cleaned, Bob's your uncle, 42mpg. Need to know the best chuck in cleaners to keep her good to go.
Awesome video, I was actually glued to my seat, cheers
Time has past, but makes zero difference, you really can't bullshit manufacturers.

That Volvo really messed up results. Without that outlier this stuff is really detrimental

Do more of these Chris, I’d help organize it if you like. Project farm style videos. A lot of data and experiments can be done if we all participate. Let’s run some tests on all types of products!

I hate to say this, but the methodology used in this video is wrong and likely doesn't give accurate results.

MPG is affected by a huge number of factors. People driving conservatively, even slightly, can increase MPG. That's why people who buy into scam fuel economy products say they work. They subconsciously drive more conservatively to "make it work".

Having everyone drive a lot both with and without the additive was good, and could've helped curb that a little. But who's to say that they weren't changing their driving behaviour?

Why not have them split their non-additive miles to a before and after to see whether it was a change in behaviour?

Another option would be to do a blind test where the drivers don't know whether they're driving with the additive at any one time. Have a volunteer who isn't the driver sneak it into the tank and report the times they did.

I'm not contesting the results. Just saying the methodology could've been better so that unconscious biases couldn't play a role.

3 to 5 percentage they claim is true. Other benefits is reduce carbon build up for car huge benefits. More beneficial to none turbo 87 fuel car seem like it.

I decided to try this stuff inside of my daily driver, my 2001 Honda Dio SK50M. It’s a 2-Stroke motor making 75cc of power after some modifications. My test without the additive I went through the 5L tank in 49.7km (I’m Canadian we don’t use Miles). With the additive it was 48.3km. Both used the exact same amount of oil, drove the same route, and the same way. I correctly added the additive (I don’t remember the ratio off the top of my head) and while yes it made my little Moped go brrr a little bit faster, it was for sure not worth it.
