Learn how to flush your cooling system including the radiator, heater core, and engine block. I go though every step to SUPER FLUSH your cooling system completely. My truck's cooling system was really really bad and it needed a good flush. Now the cooling system is filled with brand new coolant and is clean!
If your system is old or dirty, that dirt could be clogging holes in hoses, seals, and gaskets so take that into consideration when you do this.

firstbottle of flush stayed in theoberflow resivor. pour it into radiator to clean it.
Add the coolant cleaner flush to the radiator, not the reservoir.
Working on my first radiator flush now just got done doing an engine flush bc my check engine light cut on😭😭
Chris how long would you say this process took after your initial chemical addition/running for a few days?
@ChrisFix so this is a long shot seeing as this video is 8yrs old.. but ive been researching the best ways to flush out a radiator/Cooling system & I found a link stating that its bad to use distilled water mixed with antifreeze concentrate when filling up your radiator bc in the process of making distilled water it removes everything out of the water which causes the water to become unbalanced so it searches for those missing ions to become balanced again and itll pull those ions out of the metal parts within the heater core aswell as other parts of the cooling/heating system that will eventually cause bigger issues within the system.. They said to use softened water instead bc that water gets all the minerals an bs removed but it gets certain ions added back into the water so its balanced and wont be searching for those ions within the metal parts of the cooling/heating system.. Plus they make additives that you can use that allows you to use basically any type of water including tap water in your cooling system..
Thanks for all these years of putting out all these very informative automotive repair videos they have helped me an so many others gain rhe confidence & knowledge needed to tackle so many different automotive repair task..
This video been 8 years ago, and Chris still liking people comments
Eight years later…
Tip for the reservoir just blow at the top inside of sucking the chube
Something that is good to know is that purified water is the best to use, not distilled. Specifically deionized water is best. Distilled water is actually too pure to leave in anything metal, as it can leach out the ions in the metals. This can be true of anything using metal, such as a pc cooling loop, steamer, humidifier, ETC. Deionized water has the salts removed that cause mineral build up.
Only one thing that is probably glaring. When you replace your thermostat add fluid to the system so that it is full to the thermostat and then put the thermostat in. I have seen cars not be able to evacuate the air and the thermosstat never opens. It is also a faster and more reliable way to ensure large air bubbles are removed.
Great video! Thank you for this I am going to do my first radiator flush and I wish I had known about this sooner! I’m scared to see what comes out of mine because my heater isn’t heating up unless it’s been running for a long time and the engine is being reved. So I’m assuming there is a clog somewhere or my thermostat is not functioning properly. But I feel much more confident after watching this! Thank you for posting this! 💪
Curious ehy was the thermostat removed? Was it faulty or just pasrt of maintenance due to the amout of miles??
The question is does he still respond to comments on 8 year old videos?
how tf do u know it tastes sweet?!
Doing this on my 370z this weekend wish me luck🫡
