Realize I am responding to a 8 year old post, but be aware Chris stated you cannot use CLR to flush the heater core. Apparently, he does not know Honda service bulletin recommends using CLR to the heater core and flushing. Maybe, Honda knows something Chris isn't familiar with. Actually, I would never use CLR, but I wouldn't disclaim it, either.

Top tip in the winter after a long drive you should immediately take your radiator cap off to cool your vehicle down faster.

Used a thermometer. With heat all the way up, it read 75 Fahrenheit

Good callout on not using CLR. Every video ive watched prior to yours is being done with CLR, and upon looking at MY heater core, its obviously aluminum. You definitely made the process seem alot more foolproof. Great vid.

Essential procedure to do for cold climates. Many people have no idea, how warm their vehicle was, when it was new. Sometimes the heater core is finished and never be the same, how much you flush it. You know, the oxidation and rust from the bad maintained coolant system has done it's damage.

Additional tipโ€ฆ.On Amazon , they have a heater core flush water hose nozzle with step tip โ€ฆ.to control water pressure and water flow โ€ฆ.all you need is clear hose โ€ฆ.there is also one that requires an air compressor to shoot short bursts of air to help losen stubborn clogsโ€ฆ.it has a switch to go from air to water โ€ฆ.so two options to choose from โ€ฆ.with heater core flush nozzle guns โ€ฆ.both on the Amazon but can make your own with an average garden hose nozzle gun brass fittings and a cone type water hose nozzle fitting โ€ฆ.

Thank you Chris again for your video. I've been watching on and off for over five years I think, way before you got your dream Jeep ???
I have to try to do the same on my 2004 Ford Explorer . Also need to figure out what went wrong with my passenger rear window that came off the track, I guess. The little motor is working fine, it actually lowers the window, but won't lift it up.
I'm looking to see if you have any videos on itโ€ฆ Thank you, God bless you, take care. JCT:)
