Tail Light Restoration using Clear Coat. This video will show you how to clean and restore your taillights so they will never turn yellow or hazy again! You have seen videos on restoring headlights with bug spray, toothpaste, baking soda, and the kits you buy in the store, but all of these methods are temporary and eventually the haze and oxidation will come back.
My method will first make the brake light clear by wet sanding and then put a UV coat on it to seal it in.

Clean, sand with 600, then 2000, then use a heat gun. Like new. Done cheap, fast.

It's a shame you didn't do a before and after at night ??? I think there would be little difference in tail light performance 😅

These rear lights don't leave the factory with any clearcoat appled to them (fact) Only the front headlights!! As the material used is way different plastic more brittle and little flexing, And as there in the rear of the car, Are less prone to environmental,Dirt, grime, Salt, Ect, All they need is washing with warm water and house hold liquid soap, Or glass cleaner!! Your just wasting time and money!!!😅😂😊

Thanks for another great video. For the clear, I use USC Spray Max 2k High Gloss Clearcoat Aerosol. It has worked really well for me. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Chris, your method is great. I just used it on my car. I have a suggestion to further optimise your method. Maybe it is wise to let the clear coat dry indoors so there won't be dust moving around. I let my headlight dry outside and I noticed a few dust particles on it after it dried out.

If your looking for a smooth finish DO NOT DO THIS. I am not hating on ChrisFix and I enjoy his channel but he sure did not let you know among other people that when you spray your clear coat, It will look and feel wrinkly as the finish procduct. Your factory smooth glass type look and feel is gone. Tried it twice and both times same results on cluster and head lights. My cluster looks distorted and pasty and headlights look like if a mist of water froze on the lights. On the search now looking to correct this problem. Happy hunting youtubers
