I bought four new tires I can't remember if he said left front tie rod is that what your talking about changing just the little rubber boot? I live alone so I try to do things myself but my knees are bad. Do you think this is something I could do. I think he's trying to repair all of it 563.00 I dont have that after having to buy 4 new tires. He said it's a little loose and there's no danger in driving it. What's your thoughts please Chris. Don't let me loose you I've subscribed.

I can move my wheel when it’s lifted. It doesn’t click per S.E. but I can turn the wheel as it would turn with the steering wheel slightly by hand. Inner tie rod?

Technician here, confirming that this guy is an idiot. Only in and out play matters. If your mech says otherwise, you’re getting swindled.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevboost says:

What if the play is coming from the steering rack?

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Pam Dovey says:

What would cause a loose steering and extra play after replacing inner and outer tie rods as well as the ball joints .It feels like everytime I drive it it gets looser and looser. I took it back three different times to have them look at it and they kept saying it was okay and they realigned it two different times so I thought maybe you could just help out with some helpful information

I noticed I have a lot of noise such as clucking and grinding in my rear when the car is moving, could it be the tie rod? What might you think it be Chris? Thanks!

FYI, I'm not a mech but I'm interested and want to learn.

A question; is tie rod attached to steering rack?
