How to test fuel injectors for pulsing. Learn how to check fuel injectors. I use a screwdriver to test fuel injectors to make sure they are firing. You place a long screwdriver to the base of each injector and put your ear to the end of the screwdriver (like a doctors stethoscope). You should hear constant clicking. If not, then your injector isn't firing or is firing intermittently.
Symptoms of bad injectors are a check engine light with codes P0300 through P0308, misfiring, hesitation, poor fuel economy, stalling, and a poor idle.

IF you can distinguish it from the other 5000 moving, clicking, ticking parts in a running motor.I take the plenum off and the screws that hold the fuel rails down, pull the rails with all the injectors still attached, take four or six or eight baby food jars, place one injector in each jar, turn the key on a couple of times and see which jars have less or no gas in them.i have had motors where you could take off the plenum and actually start the motor and see the tips of the injectors spraying or not spraying through the intake runners.

Hello, please help me if anyone had this issue. I have Nissan Juke 2015. A problem started a few weeks ago. When i start the car it's ok but after 30-40 minutes of driving when car reaches some good temperature, and while I'm standing in heavy traffic or standing on idle sometimes its engine changes sound to something like it lost some power, starts shaking on idle, and whole car is also shaking. I went to mechanic and we changed spark plugs, it did not help, then we changed ignition coils, it did not help as well. Now mechanic says that could be a computer problem sometimes it works sometimes it does not and car starts shaking while standing in traffic or on idle. When ever i give a bit push on a pedal or turn on the AC it fixes, but when i release pedal and let it be on idle, it starts shaking again (sometimes it even goes away by itself). I also plugged to a diagnostic and it does not show any code until it starts shaking, when shaking it shows this "code P0300 multi cylinder misfire". What is your opinion about this situation and symptoms i told you? Can this be an injector or some cable problem or some sensor? Thank you

Nice trick. Done this with a thin pipe to check water pumps, power steering and knocking lifter. Why I never thought of doing it for injectors is crazy to me.. lol

I hate to tell you this but I had an injector that you can hear the clicking in and the injector wasn't working so that's that's the false information there if he has an injector clicking it's working that's not necessarily true cuz mine was clicking and was not working so we check your info bro

What if I hear that same exact nose inside my 2011 Kia optima ex 2.4? It has all the symptoms of a bad fuel injector/spark plugs. I’m not super mechanically inclined but since economy has risen up and up I had no choice but to do it myself. I guess you can say I’m missing the experience and am learning now first hand how to work on my cars. Because as you know all the symptoms are the same except for one or two things for system you try a fix. So it starts at high rpms has rough idle makes a clicking noise when accelerating which I thought might be a exhaust issue because of where the sound was coming from when I drive and I have poor gas mileage. It shakes when it’s on idle I have recently smelled gas after driving fast and then at idle, but the exact noise that you let us hear right now I can hear when I’m at a stoplight or in park.

Hi so I have a 2009 Nissan Maxima 6cylinder recently the car has begin to lose power rides rough and the engine light has started blinking then it stops after 8blinks it rides very rough and when I’m at a light it sounds as if it’s bout to cut off . I just got a tune up changing the spark plugs and one coil and also replaced the mass air flow sensor and even after that the engine light cut off but after only driving a few mins the engine light is back on and blinks and the car is riding rough again . But when I put it in manual and change the gears myself it rides okay still engine light blinks the same then stays on only when I go into 4th gear up hill does it start riding rough again . Does this sound like I have bad injectors ? Also is it too late to use cleaner ? When I first got the car and would come to a light it would do this consistent jerk not hard but you could feel it in car.. I’ve taken it to 3 mechanics and have been misdiagnosed each time .
