How to spray paint brake drums. Want to re-use your brake drums? This video will show you how to save some money and safely recondition your brake drums. It costs $50 a drum (and more for some cars) and only $20 to get them turned. Plus, the spray paint will make them look great, prevent rust, and make getting them off the next time very simple (no more stuck rusty brake drums). I used high temperature paint to get the perfect finish and last under heavy braking!

When doing this if you go the Grinder route I’d use a flap disk or a wire wheel much less chance of getting harsh grind marks
Sandblasting. Sandblasting will speed this up.
DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ON HOW TO CHANGE A AC CONDENSOR ?
Not much of a point painting the inside. Brakes shoes just gonna remove it afer you brake hard a few times. Painting the outside of drum is a good idea but I just buy new drums and shoes. I understand saving money whefe you can but considering new rear drum brakes on, say a Chevy, might set you back $200 for the whole job including springs, adjuster, pins, shoes and drums if you do it yourself.

No rust remover used, no rust preventer used, no primer used, and no clear coat used. Not the ideal method, but one of the cheapest.

How about using sandblasting to clean off the rust or even dry ice would work.
don't you need to coat it with a primer first?
