This video shows how to change a thermostat in a 2004 Jeep Wrangler straight 6cyl. This will work on any jeep from 1996-2005 with the 4.0 Inline 6 engine. This can also be used for earlier jeeps as well. A bad thermostat will cause you to overheat and would make it difficult to continue driving. It is easy to replace the thermostat and watching this video should prove that to you.

Damn Chris this video is so old!! I didn’t even realize it was you until the end! Drive safe please, my wife was in bad car accident and I’m glad she’s alive, and well. My wife drove a 97 Camry v6 and when I wash her car the metal does not flex at all, how ever when I wish my in-laws 2022 Camry trd the doors, side panels, hood flex like it’s made from metal almost a 1/4 thinner the 97 mode! Real question is, are older Toyotas safer than newer Toyotas, or same goes for any car… someone needs to make a series on this…

Thanks for the quick video! Did you use a gasket on the thermostat? I've read where some guys just use sealant? Any advice, I'm about to work on my daughter's Jeep and the thermostat is on the list. Thanks again!

I guess the belt has to be removed? Probably worth mentioning.
