How to fix C4 Corvette Headlights that wont go up or down. This video will show you how to take off the headlight assembly, take off the headlight motor, and change out your worn gear with a nice new one
If your headlights are not going up, or it goes up but easily falls back down, this is what you need to do to fix it.
Plastic gear and bushings (good price and all you need):

Bronze gear and bushings:

This is really easy to do and it will save you a lot of money. The dealer wanted $400 per light. This takes an hour each light if you take your time!

Hi Chris, I got the repair kit that comes with new gear so I used that. Your video helped a lot.
But I need help with another problem. Before I pulled the headlight assembly out, I noticed the housing or bucket had play in it. Now I have re – installed the headlight assembly and the new gear works good but the housing still has play in it. So the headlight in the closed position does not sit flush with the hood.
Any ideas or help would be great. Thanks again.
No, the pellets/bushings that disintegrated
hey chris i cannot get my torx out! its no where near as easy as seen in your video, ive tried wd40, and an air hammer for extra torque

I love how you started out just wanting to help people learn to fix things on their own and now even though your channel has grown like a wildfire you’re still just wanting to show people how with just a little effort they can fix their car too. Good for you!
Thanks so much for this video. My headlights are better than new. You made it easy for me.

Hey Chris I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird I just got as a project car, the lights flip up and down similar to the Corvette, they don't make any grinding noise when they flip up to the on positions, but when I bring them down to the off position they grind for like 5-10 seconds. Any suggestions?
about to do this on my car next week, hopefully it works!
