This is the first test in a series of fuel cleaner test I will be performing to see how fuel cleaners work and if they actually work. In this video I tested Gumout "All in one" fuel system cleaner. I use a mini borescope camera to look into the engine and see how dirty the engine is before the fuel treatment and then after the fuel treatment.
I followed the instructions on the container and Gumout fuel cleaner did a great job cleaning the shiny, sludge buildup, but did not work as well as I would have thought on the clumps of hard carbon buildup. It did not clean the cylinders as much as I thought it would since they do say one bottle will clean the engine.

They donโt work, I try it on my civic 2003 and I got a catalytic code it sucks, good thing is a cheap car I bought but no way I will used it on my other car Camry 2014 I rather buy plus gas is cleaner.
The good ole days when gas was $2.60
your analysis is very good, thank you for sharing.
What can happen if I decide to use two bottles for first fill up
Back when gas was cheap
So, they dont even claim that its a one time fix. That build up took years, and if the product was used regularly, that deposit wouldnt be there. So it would take a few bottles to widdle that away, so slamming the product right away isnt fair when it clearly cleaned up a good amount.
You should really do an update video with the new Gumout products Iโm only saying this because itโs been almost a decade since u made these vids and people wanna know if they changed the additives and maybe do new STP products too ๐ซjust do all gas additives from Walmart plzzzz
Try an injector cleaner first?
What would the Gumeout CEO say????
Will something like this work for a fuel system flush? I was quoted $180 at a dealership.
Hang on, you're testing a fuel system cleaner by seeing how clean the engine is? That doesn't make sense.
Shouldn't you be seeing how clean the fuel system is?
I think you expected too much. Getting rid of that carbon takes a while and maybe if you ran this test over a few thousand miles might give a better result. I use these cleaners mainly to clean my injectors and any carbon it may remove from the piston is a bonus. If it can keep new carbon deposits from forming than all the better.
Maybe we need to use it for longer.. ?
