In this video I tested Techron Concentrate Plus by Chevron. I use a mini borescope camera to look into the engine and see how dirty the engine is before the fuel treatment and then after the fuel treatment.
I followed the instructions on the container and Techron performed similarly to gumout. This is the third test in a series of fuel cleaner test I will be performing to see how fuel cleaners work and if they actually work.
Here is the fuel cleaner I used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00092893E/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00092893E&linkCode=as2&tag=chri0e2-20&linkId=JHJTJRLDKEROW2YJ

So your valve carbon is ending up on the cylinders. Poor experiment

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Calvin C. says:

If you use this every time you fill up, your fuel system should be pretty clean after a few months

Try pouring a few ounces directly on top of pistons letting it soak for a couple days, then reinstall plugs and drive for sometime then recheck. Would probably have a better outcome.

Now a third and fourth bottle

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SL says:

The typical Techron bottle sizes are 12z and 20z, but I saw a 10z bottle at Walmart for the same price as a 12z. Beware

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ronald Russell says:

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Fang Regalia says:

I try and use Gasoline that contains a patented cleaning system that actively cleans intake valves and fuel injectors. Like Chevron, shells, BP, Exxon

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Woodzy fox says:

that is a HUGE amount of carbon..

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lara Greene says:

i go moreso how my car drives after using the product. Though no fuel cleaner is magic, its more of a temporary fix…..it probably should be used at least once every couple of months or more. The cleaner Ive been most impressed with was a cat cleaner. They must be stronger than the regular fuel cleaners!!! I was amazed by the one I used!! My car drove like new again….and its around 20 yrs old!!!

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Downs says:

I put a bottle of techtron in about half tank full. I may or may not top off. Techtron was about $7 ammsoil is about $19. I only use occasionally.

Does it make a difference if itโ€™s reg or premium

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars charlie dee says:

I can say it does work. I have a C5 Corvette (97-04) that has a common problem of the fuel gauge going to E and staying there. The car has 2 tanks and 2 fuel level senders which very commonly get fouled by contaminants, the common fix that works to get the gauge to read again is called the 20-20 treatment. 20oz bottle of Techron in a tank, another 20oz in the next tank. 95% of the time the gauge will start to work again, I tried this just last week when my gauge dropped from 5/8 tank to E. Gauge started working again with the first treatment.
