Parasitic Draw Test and how to find a short. Does your car battery die after your car sits for a few hours, a day, or a couple of days? Well there are 3 causes for this: bad/old battery, a bad alternator, and a short (parasitic draw). This video shows you how to see if you have a short and then how to diagnose that short.

I pulled all my fuses and checked one by one, even the fuses in the engine bay, but my voltage load was reading 11.5v the entire time. (The battery is only charged to 11.5v) is there something I’m doing wrong or something else I should check besides my fuses? Help would be greatly appreciated

Never store your meter with the dial on “Amps”. Once you’re done measuring Amps, set it to Volts
Never store your meter with the Red test probe wire plugged into the “Amps” connector. Once you’re done measuring Amps, plug it into “Volts/Ohms”.
Trust me on this one.
An 8A load wouldn’t drain your battery “in a couple of days”.
It’d be more like 12-15 HOURS.

Hello Sir, my 2010 Subaru Forester battery gets low all the time. Firstly, the engine light, blinking cruise light, and traction light were on, then showed it to a mechanic, he got these codes on OBD P0851 and P0335 he changed the new neutral switch, but the lights came back on in a day or two. Then I checked myself for the P0335 crankshaft sensor, it is working. I drive the car very little; my car battery keeps getting discharged around 10 on the multimeter, then when I drive the car a little, it goes to 12.7 and when the car is started it shows me 14.4. Plus, when my battery is charged properly around 12.7 those lights go off, when it starts going down, these lights come back. Plus, I checked for the drain, and the reading showed me on the negative terminal -0.13 so is something taking the battery power, or the battery is not good? Please guide. Thanks, a lot.

Whats is the other test where you conduct a similar test but with everything on like the doors open, AC on, radio on, etc…?
Were you re inputting the previous fuse prior to pulling the next or did you leave all the fuses you pulled out and just went down the fuse box without reinserting the fuses?
