How to diagnose and fix a blown out license plate light. The bulb in this truck was visually burnt out, but that doesn't always happen. Sometimes the light looks fine and really needs to be tested with a multimeter. If the light is not blown out then you have to see if there is current getting to the light socket.

Ii/3 23, They usually, in my recent experience, fail in pairs within a short space of time. GBP £ 0.70 pence each in the UK. Had almost 70 minutes of grief replacing one for the 1st time within the limited space available, under the cowling, above the N° Plate on a Suzuki SX4. Thought the bulb would shear in two – did'nt realise they're so robust whilst using my 3/4 inch diameter fingers ! Still good 2 weeks later. Unrelated question please ; Is it worth using a Magnetic Sump Plug during my next engine oil change ? Best Regards !

Hey Chris, my license plate lights are out and it's not the bulbs so I'm pretty sure it's a wiring problem. I checked the fuse and it was fine so I'm wondering could I just run the wires and splice into the tail light hot?

License plate lights have got to be the dumbest thing ever. You can clearly see what the license plate is without them anyway

They have never been changed so I know its not stripped but if i keep turning it with a screw driver im going to strip it. Please help
