Okay man the point of the camera bulge is so you can align your car without going to get an alignment correct would you like to show us how to adjust the cameras bulbs to pull the wheels in and out In-N-Out OverWatch another video with someone that has more knowledge alignment is not a science you can figure it out it'll take you time so after replacing the bolts I still have to pay someone to do the alignment we are watching these videos to do it ourselves
Chris, I'm replacing my MOOG non- greaseable upper control arm with a Mevotech greaseable one and used the SAME alignment/ camber kit you used in the video. I was wondering if I can reuse this bolt kit, or should I spend the $40 and buy a new kit? Thanks.
How do I fix the camber on my rear wheels? No shop can fix it, and both of my rear tires sit with an unexplained negative camber. Even the dealership can"t figure it out.
Definitely not 5 minutes aside……
Wish mine were 5 mins each. Got a 2012 ram 1500 big horn. My camber/caster bolts are on the lower control arms. Passenger side went smooth. Driver side the bolts were seized in the bushing. Strut bolt also seized in bushing. Cut off with sawzall and waiting on a new bolt and bushing for strut mount location. Then Iโll take my control arm to the local shop and have them press out the old and in the new then Iโll put it all back together and take it to get aligned. Ugh was supposed to be a day or less to do. Iโm now a week into it and itโs basically bc it takes a day or two to get the partsโฆ Iโll be so happy when itโs done. Was gonna do the passenger side bushings but since they werenโt seized Iโll do them laterโฆ.
This what's the most expensive alignment I've ever heard to do in my life they charged me $927 to do an hour tie rod and add the caster camber bolts definitely a rip off at the repair shop…
Good illustration.
Now, forget the alignment shop, and get a camber level or a carpenter's level and set the camber to your vehicle specs or 0ยฐ with the weight of the vehicle on the ground or on jackstands.
If you've gone this far, you don't need to pay for some tech to mess up your alignment or try to sell you something.
Then check the toe setting on the steering and adjust to 1/16" toe-in at the front of the vehicle….done.
You don't need a $10,000 machine to set alignment.
So how do you adjust camber now?
Why are you putting the washer on AFTER the camber bolt? Please explain. Thank you
Do you have to put the washers in with the cam and the bolt? My cam kit didnโt come with washers. Or is that only for certain cars?
I was curious if I could install those with control arm n place ๐๐๐๐๐
To avoid it moving before you take the bolt all the way out put another the opposite side to keep it from moving
cheers chris
Chris, What torque wrench brand did you use? Which one do you recommend?
Thanks! Your explanation on the installation of the camber bolts is the best compared with the other you tubers. On one site they installed erroneously the small washer on the outside of the large adjusting camber washer.
Aye man I just wanted to say thank you for the way you teach in your videos. You are giving people confidence to try new things and the world can use this right now. I have a Podcast that is growing daily and one day we may align to do an episode as I always encourage people to try new things, especially when it comes to fixing something internally and externally from themselves. Much Love
