Learn how to flush and fill the coolant in your car or truck. Keep your radiator, heater core, and engine clean. Flushing your coolant is good for the cooling system to prevent rust and to prevent your car from overheating.
First you drain the old coolant from the radiator, then you fill it with distilled water and coolant flush chemical. Then you run the car. Then you drain the water from the radiator and fill it with 50/50 antifreeze.

Was that chris fix face reveal? Or am i trippin
Great video going to try this. My radiator cap has brown sludge on it, would coolant flush help that or is that indicatng something else wrong? I figured it ment the system is dirty.
Also you said to run it a few hundred miles on your other video, is driving it necessary or wil idling work just aswell? I ask because i have it on non op at the moment.
If you filled it all the way with water how did you add the rest treatment? Jw
@chrisfix Thanks for posting this! Quick question: do you recommend taking the old thermostat out of the housing when driving with the flush and water in and then putting the new one in after you drain the water?
Excellent, thanks!
What about thermostat though? how are you getting the engine flushed which also has coolant in it?
Hi Chris – my coolant didn't all drain out (2004 Infinity G 35). The heater never warmed up , though the engine was at normal temperature. Does this mean there's an issue with the heater core? Thanks for any advice.
Thank you soooo much !!!
Word to the wise: do NOT use radiator cleaner/cooling system cleaner. Distilled water ONLY. Why? Well, remember that bubble machine from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory? Yeaaah. Now, a week and dozens and dozens of flushes later, I have it mostly under control, but it is STILL coming out as foamy as a dish sink. This can't be good for my vehicle, at all. It will NOT come out! I am currently flushing over and over, scared for my vehicle. My cooling system is full of air bubbles and cleaner which is apparently corrosive in the long run. This was supposed to be a one-hour job. It would've been a one-hour job! Learn from my mistake. Don't be that guy. Do not put radiator cleaner in your vehicle. It's so horrible, I don't see how it's even legal for them to sell it.
Thank you so much! Very thorough and very helpful. It's exactly the complete start to finish demonstration that I needed. A complication came up (and when do they not?) But I scrolled into the comments to find a solution. Excellent video!
Can you drive for an hour instead of 10 minutes?
Hell you have to have a professional pour some liquid into a hole…..YOUR WAY TO DUMB to do it yourself
