Control Arm Bushing Replacement. This video will show you how to easily replace Upper Control Arm bushings (press the old ones out and press the new ones in with common tools). This job is fast and easy and can be done with basic hand tools and a ball joint or bushing press which you can rent for free at your local parts store.
You can also use this method to replace bushings in your leaf springs and pretty much anything that has pressed in bushings!

Nice work Chris
You could just buy a new control arm with bushes and a new ball joint for not a lot of money and save yourself some swear time.
Great video nice and clear, another thing to bear in mind is you should be adding some support for between the ears on the end of the control arms otherwise you can crush them together. This will make popping the bushing out harder and especially when pushing the new ones in. I use an old socket or a cut down bolt to wedge between the ears, this stops the two sides crushing inwards.
Great video
Very detailed and that's what I need cause I don't know shit bout cars until I started watching your videos. Cheers from the Kingdom of Tonga.
When do you replace just the bushings vs the control arm & bushings?
I did new struts and sway bar links, it still has the same clatter. Possibly controll bushings?
Of course, my favorite GT7 song.
Great video on removing worn bushings, I would offer this tip, if the bushings are rusty, try soaking overnight with white vinegar, it will break down the rust and make removal that much easier. Thanks again for the video!
More cushion for the bushing
Thanks. Simple.
Ur incredible Chris
No body sells nv2500 specific control arm bushings. Are those in a few standardized sizes or I will have to contact a bushing maker for more info?
how much should that cost at a dealership. My dealer wants to replace only the bushings. Why not the arms too?
Thanks!
So if my control arm has a ball joint, then I should just get new control arms? Thanks Chris.
Keeping oem control arms and just doing bushings is best, instead of the cheap chinese control arms you can buy.
