Spark Plug Wire Replacement on a Ford Ranger. This video shows how to replace the spark plug wires on a V6 Mazda B3000 (Ford Ranger). It is a straight forward process and will take about 2 hours if you take your time. These new wires increased my fuel economy from 16mpg to 17.5mpg and the idle is a lot smoother now.

Thank you for this video and greatest detail about this video is the order on where the wires go to each cylinder thanks again no one else had that detail
I’m a day and age where information can be so readily available, the information you find isn’t always accurate or straight forward. After 2 hrs of sifting they diagrams for my make and frustration. I found myself just looking for a simple video. Chris Fix. This video was clear, straight forward and helpful. I remembered Chris’s for my Ranger bc many years ago I watched a video to fix my Pontiac. This video took me 5mins and came with helpful tips such as the zip ties. Thanks again
I've got an '86 ranger 2.9L … would like to also replace distributor cap/rotor … looks difficult to reach. Do you have a video?
No they don't "just pop off the spark plug like that"
and you can't hold them from the head while you're doing it
because unless you grab them from the lip you risk damaging the wire inside the insulation
and no you can't "twist a little" to get them off
because there is barely enough room to get your hand in there
let alone trying to "twist" it.
Good man. Always good vids. Mind picking up a 4 liter 09 ranger and doing some vids on it?
your obviously not a mechanic or an engineer. Your truck does not have a distributor nor does most vehicles manufactured after 1995. That is a ignition Coil not a Distributor. there is huge difference. Most cars have at least one coil, yours has 6 or one per cylinder. the computer controls spark timing and order to each coil, so there is no need for a distributor that does just that. There is a reason it is called distributorless ignition. Get your terms straight if you are going to be informing others on how to do something.
Thanks for showing us how to pop open the wire harness…..that's exactly what I needed to see.
those were some crusty lookin wires😂
good job replacing em
Used your video as the guidebook for my Ford ranger perfect thanks a lot
