I'll just buy new and cooler ones
Actually this is extremely wrong and unfair what's happening to modern day car owners. Headlights should be made from glass with protective shutter material than this inferior plastic headlights. The pioneer who established the acto industry should be ashamed of today poor quality, and obsession for shareholders profit in the expense of customers, and they should be ashamed of modern day designers, technicians and engineers who helping the shareholders cut corners and cheat customer with inferior cars and their technologies. The old pioneers where about solving problems, inventions and reliability not this innovation junk technology that keep the owners broke and unsatisfied about their purchase. This people forget that cars have a sentimental value and people want to own a good vehicle and cherish it. German cars are the worst.
So costly solution, good to buy new one
Just did this today and got incredible results !!! You got a sub from me
Isn’t it the Lens?
Mine is still coming out foggy after polishing and waxing. Did I not sand enough?
Worked great! Thank you!
How long should you sand with each grade ?
Car wax or headlight wax? Is polish better? Is there specific headlight wax or headlight polish?
Wet sanding headlights is old school, Wet sanding only on car body preparation for damage or respraying, Headlight restoration dry sanding works much better, As the water acts like a lubricant and slows down surface removal!!! Try it yourself and prove me wrong? Your choice of grit size is questionable I would recommend, You only need three different pads first p500, p800, p3000 trizact with water!! I think you should always tape around lens as a rule of thumb and always use a decent clearcoat!!
Before you applied 2000 grift while you were using water spray I felt like the video cut edited
Hi Chris I wanted to know what grit was the buffing wheel, please let me know 😁
i dont know what i did wrong but after i wiped off the toothpaste the surface wa more rough that it was before, what happened? wrong toothbrush?
Sand yours headlights So that the Haze is even All Over(his was not)The Better you Sand The Better the Outcome. Use Real Compound with at Least a Drill with a buffing pad attachment(Works better). Note: You will Still Need to use a Two Part Clear Coat to Seal what you have done or else your work will turn back Yellow With in two months. Tape off your Headlights to prevented scratching and over spray.
I'm assuming the wax step will have to be repeated several times a year ( more in areas where it rains / snows a lot for instance) I have another question though. The headlights on my 2017 Toyota Highlander aren't "foggy" so to speak but there is a slight "haze" on the lens situated right in front of where the low beam bulb is. It's almost like a small2-3 inch circle of "spider web" or hairlike scratches. It doesn't severly obstruct the beam of light but it does seem to distort it a little bit and is quite noticeable when the low beams are on. Would you suggest doing just the last few steps ( no 200 and 600 grit just go straight to maybe 800 and then 1200 or 1500 and finish it out with 3000????? and compound and wax ( or would 2 coats 24 hours apart of a ceramic sealer spray work better?
Any1 tried?? I'll just try it out on a small area first…
Good but dont own tool🙁
I don't have a DARN DREMAL
