Learn how an oil sample taken during an oil change can tell you the condition of the engine in your car.
With my Ford, I was curious about the condition of the engine after 300k miles. Are bearings worn? Is there a coolant leak? Is my oil protecting the engine? Sure you can do a compression test, but that only tell you so much. I could have used my borescope camera, but again, you only get so much info. With this oil analysis, you can learn a lot about the condition of your engine.

I have a 04 Santa Fe with the 2.4 engine and automatic transmission. at 300.3000 miles I took off oil pan and replaced the rod bearings as preventative maintenance.the brass was barely beginning to show through. I replaced them with it in the car .I also replaced the lower shells on the crankshaft. All the bearings were standard size..ole SUV is still humming along..I'm shooting for 500.000 miles lol I just want to see how long an engine can possibly last..also I flushed out the cooling system and used k and w block seal because surely the head gasket has degraded to some degree even though it doesn't appear to have done so lol..so far so good. I always enjoy your videos great work man!!!!

    Engine: bring the thick goodnes

If you'd like to reduce your wear try adding some XcelPlus.

A 50~90% reduction in wear is normal after treatment… and that would drop your wear back into the normal range.

N.B. Copper and lead are usually bearings.

    🙂

I’m pretty “positive” that POS means positive for antifreeze. I think somebody told you but looking in the first major layer of comments I see nothing!

SiliCON is dirt man! It shows how well (or not) your air filter is working usually.

I'd like to know how the "averages" were obtained. Specifically, on what oil change interval AVERAGE, if any, are those comparison numbers based? If the averages are from 3-5K mile oil, then I would expect the Windstar's numbers to be higher, having had a few more thousand miles to accumulate metals, antifreeze, etc. If, on the other hand, the numbers are based on ALL vehicles with roughly 300K miles, then the comparison would be fairly pointless.

Chris maybe POS means positive for the antifreeze being in the oil

Bro I thought you were changing the oil for the first time
