Here is a good reason to change your fuel filter. After 300,000 miles on the same fuel filter, I cut it in half so we can see how dirty the filter is and so we can do a flow test! I also check a fuel filter with 130k miles and another with 30k miles to compare the three fuel filters.

Wish I watched this before changing my filter a few hours ago, I was wondering how to stop fuel from spitting out when disconnecting the filter 😅

just changed mine after only 90k miles and honestly it was just as filthy as the 300k mile filter

Such an incredible video! Can’t wait to change my filter. Hadn’t done it since I bought my car new in 2013 😬 oops lol.

I just had two gas fuel filters come apart!! The glue holding the cartridge media to the housing dissolved and it was loose inside , Any and all the collected dirt etc went right into engine along with the dissolved glue. In addition the loose media was intermittently blocking the outflow and over pressuring the fuel pump. Almost sure ethanol is the problem and any additives or increase is making things worse. Maybe a test of filters vs ethanol is in order?????

Have a 2007 Pontiac G5 2.2L at 224+KM. I changed a lot of original parts: tie rod end, sway bar links, rear wheel suspensions, steering shaft, turn signal switch, blower motor & blower motor resistor, control arm, mass air flow sensor, positive crank ventilation hose, ball joint, wheel bearing, front & rear brakes, rotor. I think this is all. Done over the years, especially after front wheel work. Still having problems with heater turning on and off though. Going to hopefully have fuel filter changed today.

Really informative. I learned something new and helped me understand how important changing the fuel filter is. I have a 96 Ford Explorer V6 and I don’t know when the fuel filter was replaced in mine. I just picked up a filter today and plan to change it in the coming days.

odd as you said the 300k has a string around it and you waited soo long to change it LOL and odd the 130k has debris that past the oring 🙂 in it 🤔and the 30k not bad ")

I am extremely amazed the fuel pump survived having to work so hard. But I've noticed older Ford fuel pumps are unusually strong.

That was an awesome video. Now when I change my filter tomorrow , I will do it exactly the way you did it. Thank you.

The question is how much influence do injector cleaners have on the filter, it seems to me that it becomes dirty and clogged more quickly due to loose dirt from the tank and if you often empty your tank into the reserve tank

change them max 10.000 miles not 30.000 if you want to keep your car working….
